A rare look inside two of Scotland鈥檚 leading prisons which house women: HMP & YOI Grampian in Peterhead, which houses up to 50 women, and HMP & YOI Stirling in central Scotland, which houses up to 117 women.

With full access to both prisons and unique insights into daily prison life, work assignments and emotional family visits, we meet both prisoners and staff. The series sheds light on the resilience of imprisoned women and the systemic challenges they face in seeking redemption and stability beyond the prison walls.

This episode follows two women at different stages of their prison journeys. Terri, a young mother, is struggling with the emotional toll of being separated from her children. Despite her efforts to rehabilitate, a violent altercation threatens her progress.
