Happy Birthday Elton John!

Bob celebrates Elton John's upcoming birthday with a classic performance from The Old Grey Whistle Test. Also, he pays tribute to Jesse Colin Young who died earlier this week.

Elton John appeared on the very first series of the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1971 - even before Bob Harris began his stint on the show! To mark Elton's 78th birthday on the 25th March, Bob has dug into the archives to find a performance from that very show. You can also hear a clip of Elton chatting to Bob from 2010.

Elsewhere on the programme, Bob will pay tribute to an artist he championed back in his Whistle Test days, Jesse Colin Young, who died earlier this week.

In addition, there will be plenty of 70s memories, Bob will choose another 'Country Classic', and there will be more happenings from the decade in Bob's 'Rock Date Diary'.

To listen on most smart speakers, just say 鈥淪ounds of the 70s with Bob Harris".
