Is It a Bedroom, Or Is It a Garage?
Stacey and the team help the Jamieson family declutter three generations of clutter to transform the home that’s been in their family for 40 years.
Stacey and her team head to East Sussex to help the Jamieson family tackle their overflowing converted bungalow. Single mum Nadine has called the house home since her teenage years, raising her four daughters there alongside her own late mother. With three generations under one roof, the family’s belongings have now taken over entire rooms, leaving no space for a fresh start.
With the team’s help, the family strips every item from their home, unveiling the hidden potential beneath the chaos. During the packing, the team learn about Nadine’s history of looking after everyone around her –at work as an NHS nurse, as a carer to her late mother and raising her four daughters.
The family’s possessions are displayed in a vast warehouse – an awe-inspiring art installation of their lives, including 106 animal ornaments, 87 board games and over 1,000 pieces of Nadine’s beloved china. As they sort through the decades of keepsakes, emotional moments arise. Nadine reflects on her idyllic childhood, the challenges of raising her daughters, and the impact of her father leaving the family home.
With Nadine’s daughters supporting her every step of the way, the family takes on the challenge of letting go of 40 years’ worth of possessions and memories. Once the most treasured items are selected, Stacey and the team work tirelessly to transform the cluttered bungalow into a warm and welcoming sanctuary.
Rob upcycles forgotten furniture to create a cosy, revamped kitchen, and he turns Fleur’s bedroom into a retro 1970s-inspired haven. Dilly organises Nadine’s extensive china collection, and Iwan modernises old furniture and cleans the house from top to bottom. Stacey’s online friend Zoe Sugg, aka Zoella, steps in to lend an extra pair of hands as they prepare the house ahead of the family’s return home.
Will Stacey and her team’s efforts to declutter, organise and upcycle provide the fresh start the Jamiesons have been dreaming of?
