The Daughter’s Story

Emma Barnett talks to Dominique and Gisèle Pelicot’s daughter Caroline Darian about the impact of her father’s crimes on her family and her mother - and about the man she will never again call ‘Dad’.

The Pelicot case will be remembered as the largest rape trial in France's history. Dominique Pelicot was convicted of drugging and raping his wife, Gisèle, and inviting 50 men to their home to assault her as she slept. Caroline believes her father also raped her but accepts that she may never know the truth. In her view, Dominique Pelicot is a dangerous man who deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.
