This year, five years after the release of their last album 鈥淎ncestor鈥�, Bangor based duo The Darkling Air AKA Rachel McCarthy and Michael Keeney are back with their third album, 鈥淧areidolia鈥�. The music The Darkling Air make is a mesmerising mix of experimental folk and elegant, cinematic piano balladry. Rachel鈥檚 spellbinding vocals hover weightlessly in mid-air, grounded by captivating lyrics which, on the new album, explore the complexity of human emotion and the importance of the imagination. The band play new songs live in studio and chat to Stephen about the new album and their approach to songwriting.
