Episode 19
Izzie and Saf help best friends fund a much-needed holiday. Tomato paste proves to be an unlikely saviour, and a box under the bed reveals valuable treasures worth selling.
Rising bills, ill health, and grief forced best friends Sally and Lynn to move in together. Lynn was still reeling from the shock of her 59-year-old husband's dementia diagnosis when he sadly passed away. As Sally tried to be supportive, she was then diagnosed with a degenerative condition that limited her mobility, left her in pain and made her give up her passion for teaching horse riding.
Now, with their combined households packed into one home, they're desperate to declutter. The friends hope they're sitting on a small fortune – unwanted items, collections they've lost interest in and inherited items gathering dust. Money raised at auction will go towards a much-needed and well-deserved holiday. But will it be Sharm el-Sheikh or Scarborough?
Auctioneer Izzie Balmer discovers a treasure trove of jewellery, and hidden under a bed, a beautiful 19th-century French mantelpiece clock. Meanwhile, restoration expert Saf Fakir uses his skills to revive a mid-century draw-leaf table. He also uses some unconventional methods to restore a brass statue to its former glory.
However, will Lynn be ready to part with some of the items belonging to her late husband at auction?
