Episode 13

Can a childhood toy and coin collection raise enough cash to fix a leaky roof? Izzie and JJ meet a couple who鈥檝e worked hard all their lives and now want to enjoy their retirement.

Cathy and Ian's retirement dreams were shattered when Ian was forced into early retirement due to redundancy. The couple now face a pressing need to repair and redecorate their Chingford home. They want to clear out the items they've accumulated over nearly four decades of marriage to fund the costly renovations. Now that their children have flown the nest, they want to future-proof their family home.

A small box uncovers a treasure trove of jewellery, exciting auctioneer Izzie Balmer, and commemorative coins will also appeal to keen collectors at the auction. Restoration expert JJ Chalmers converts his mobile workshop into a dog-grooming parlour, where he restores Cathy's childhood toy dog Fido to its former glory. JJ also repairs a broken wall clock and revives a neglected puppet.

At an Oxfordshire auction, Ian and Cathy鈥檚 unwanted items are sold to the highest bidder. But can Izzie raise enough cash for them to renovate their home and fix the leaky roof?
