For award winning actress Shirley Henderson the arrival of a feral pigeon to her urban garden as she sat with her cup of tea has brought a lifetime of joy. The first pigeon she noticed she named Little Girly, a bird recognised by its limp. That pigeon was followed by others, Miss White, Big Bird, Little Voice and many others. They know her well and will fly down to secure a peanut or two often from inside her jacket pocket.
