Liam Fray
Liam Fray, front man of Courteeners, takes us on his 10-song Tracks of My Years musical journey in this omnibus edition.
Vernon Kay welcomes Liam Fray, best known as the front man of indie rock band Courteeners, who will be taking us on his 10-song Tracks Of My Years musical journey this week.
Courteeners formed in 2006, and since then, all six of their albums have reached the Top 10 on the UK albums chart. Their debut album, 'St Jude', reached number one in 2023 - nearly 15 years after its original release - after the band dropped an anniversary edition. That became a record for the longest time between its release and charting at the top spot – a total of 14 years, 9 months and 13 days.
They're back now with new single 'Pink Cactus Cafe', the title single from their upcoming album, which is out on 25th October. Liam has co-produced all of the tracks, and it features contributions from friends of the band such as DMAs, Brooke Combe, and James and Ian Skelly from The Coral.
Liam tells us that he was highly influenced by his Dad, who would make mixed tapes to play in the car, and is taken back by his first track, ‘Hazy Shade of Winter’ by Simon & Garfunkel.
