Britain's Ben Maher bids to become the first rider to retain the Olympic crown since the individual showjumping event began 124 years ago in Paris.

Jeanette Kwakye and JJ Chalmers present another busy morning in Paris, with the women鈥檚 1,500m, men鈥檚 javelin and men鈥檚 400m hurdles all getting started at the Stade de France.

Brilliant Kenyan Faith Kipyegon and Britain鈥檚 Laura Muir will look to make safe passage in the 1,500m, while Olympic champions Neeraj Chopra and Karsten Warholm begin the defence of their titles in the javelin and 400m hurdles respectively.

The showjumping individual final is set to be a spectacle too at the magnificent Chateau de Versailles. Brit Ben Maher is bidding to become the first rider to retain the individual Olympic crown since the event began 124 years ago in Paris.
