Episode 4
Sian dives deeper than ever as her investigation concludes. Will eyewitness accounts and recently unclassified documents deliver a rational explanation or something more sinister?
In the final episode, Sian’s investigation into the reports of mass UFO sightings that began in a playground in west Wales draws her into unsettling questions around secret military testing, evidence of a craft that defies human capabilities, conspiracy theories and whistleblowers across the pond.
As Sian tracks down some of the hundreds of eyewitnesses from the UFO sighting on 19 January 1983, she makes a startling discovery - how closely all their stories match up. A silent craft that was triangular-shaped and shot off at great speeds was seen, but no known craft matches that description from the time, so could it have been secret military aircraft? If so, why hasn’t the information been released 40 years on? A group of ex-military whistleblowers have given evidence in the US Congress about the strange objects they’ve seen that they cannot explain. Is she teetering on discovering our own military secrets or something else?
The now-deceased Randall Jones Pugh, who quit investigating the case after he became too terrified by what he discovered, had always urged the government to take these sightings seriously. With the US Congress discussing sightings of unexplained objects, Sian reaches out to the Ministry of Defence to challenge them on the situation in the UK.
Sian goes back to see some of those most impacted by events almost 40 years ago to share what she has discovered. She concedes the journey has taken lots of different turns, and it's made her change her mind on how she sees the world.
