MC Conrad & LTJ Bukem
Paying homage to the acclaimed drum & bass vocalist and LTJ Bukem collaborator MC Conrad.
For over 30 years, MC Conrad has been one of the foremost voices of rave culture, and drum 'n' bass respectively. He sadly passed away at the age of 52 at the end of April 2024. As a Producer and label head, he helped deepen the scope for jungle and drum'n'bass during the 1990s and beyond.
In 1994, Thompson began his Speed residency at London's Mars Bar, where he would provide vocals over sets by LTJ Bukem and Fabio. The residency helped bolster the popularity of the venue, drum 'n' bass and positioned MC Conrad as a seminal voice in the genre and one of the UK's most famous MCs. This would be the start of an enduring partnership, with LTJ & Conrad producing a legendary Radio 1 Essential Mix together back in 1995.
