A community group that helps to improve the health of elderly people in Limavady has called on the Health Minister to reverse changes to out of hours GP services in the town. Mary McCrea, who is Director and Chair of COAST, says elderly people in Limavady have heavily relied on the out of hours service. A local resident also tells North West Today people in the town are 'feeling more and more like second class citizens'.
The Department of Health says there is an out of hours service across the Western area available Monday to Friday from 6pm to 8am, as well as 24 hours at weekends and during public holidays.
