The Reverend Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad chat to author Matt Cain. His new book, ONE LOVE, is the story of a twenty-year friendship, blurred boundaries and a love that may or may not be unrequited, all coming to a head over the weekend of Manchester Pride. It's about being true to your authentic self, unique relationships that may not fit into a standard box, differences in social class and how these can still determine the course of our lives, low self-esteem and how this can lead to self-destructive behaviour, and, ultimately, the need for self-acceptance and self-love. It's also a celebration of what Matt describes as the "gloriously diverse and accepting city of Manchester" - his home city!
Kate and Jason are also be joined by the Songs of Praise, Gospel Choir of the Year 2024 judge Karen Gibson. Karen is the founder and director of the award winning Kingdom Choir. The Kingdom Choir has performed at several high profile national occasions. Founded in 1994, in London, it draws from several Christian traditions and is dedicated to creating a sound that reflects the community they share.
