Nadine Shah, CMAT and Richard King

Huw welcomes musicians Nadine Shah and CMAT, as well as writer and former record label boss Richard King to Roundtable to discuss the week's new releases.

Huw brings together a panel of musicians and experts to discuss the week’s new releases.

Nadine Shah is a Mercury-nominated artist whose music has been a mainstay on 6 Music since the 2010s. She is releasing her fifth studio album Filthy Underneath in February. CMAT is the moniker of Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, a singer songwriter from Dublin who released her second studio album in October 2023 and was recently listed in the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ's Sound of 2024 poll as one to watch for the year ahead. Richard King is a writer whose books include How Soon Is Now? (Sunday Times Music Book of the Year 2012) and Original Rockers. In his former career he co-founded the indie label Planet Records and has programmed and produced events for the likes of Green Man Festival, London 2012 and the Hay Festival. His next book is dedicated to the life and music of Arthur Russell, titled Travels Over Feeling: Arthur Russell – A Life and is published in April 2024.
