'Girls make games!' Derry company aims to shake up gaming industry

Local company KIPPIE hope to attract more females to the gaming industry, Derry girls International Emmy, An Post writing competition and Ken McCormack discusses the Bollies.

KIPPIE give girls an idea of what it is like to work in the exciting and growing world of game development in Northern Ireland. KIPPIE co-founder Kathleen Rowlandson joins Colm Arbuckle to talk about a new free course called ‘Girls make Games’ aimed at attracting more female designers to the computer games industry. Historian Ken McCormack takes Colm on a journey to the Bollies in Prehen. Ukrainian woman Olga Kitik, who now lives in Letterkenny has been shortlisted from more than 100 entries in a new writing competition established by An Post, in association with the Irish Book Awards and Pauline Moore from the 'Talking Derry Girls' podcast stops to chat with Colm about the Derry Girls Emmy win on her way to the Irish Podcast Awards 2023.
