Tunes, chat and a bear special

Mark and Stuart celebrate the 65th anniversary of Paddington Bear with selection of bear-related tracks and chat.

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present an audio buffet of top tunes and chat for weekend breakfast.

Today they mark the 65th anniversary of Paddington Bear with a special bear-themed show. The popular fictional bear first appeared in author Michael Bond's book 鈥楢 Bear Called Paddington鈥� on 13th October 1958. To celebrate Paddington鈥檚 anniversary, Mark and Stuart play a selection of bear-related tracks and discuss our favourite fictional bears.

Also on the show... long-running feature 鈥楾he Chain鈥�, which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8000 songs.

With a selection of music old and new including tracks from Friends Again, Charlotte Adig茅ry, Mercury Rev, James Brown, Mitski, Robyn, Arctic Monkeys, Panda Bear and The Charlatans.
