Readers Yusra Warsama and Darren Kuppan explore the multilayered symbolism of keys, reading from Dante, Rumi and Tracy Beaker alongside music by Bach, Bessie Smith and Mozart.

Keys open doors and minds, keep secrets and reveal them, flutter freely from trees and imprison for eternity and they set a musical sound. Readers Yusra Warsama and Darren Kuppan read from works which feature lost keys, magical ones, fumbling at locks, at learning and committing murder. The readings include extracts from works by Dante, Tracy Beaker and a vintage recording of TS Eliot, and music including Chopin's Black Key Study, PJ Harvey's Chain of Keys, Bartok's Bluebeard's Castle, Bessie Smith's Lock and Key, JS Bach channelled by Wendy Carlos and Scott Joplin's Sycamore Rag.
