Episode 2

Episode 2 of 12

The Barclays are finding their feet with the new Fat Lamb business. Rachel and Camy head to Lairg to buy more ewes. Nikki and Ollie find out if their favourite buffalo is pregnant.

Autumn brings challenges and rewards for farmers across Scotland. In Inverkip, Rachel and Camy are one year into building their own farm, taking on a tenancy at Dunrod Farm and a big bank loan with the dream of one day owning 5,000 sheep. But a trip to market means higher prices scupper their best intentions.

In Maybole in South Ayrshire, the Barclay family are getting to grips with their new business venture – buying store lambs to fatten up for the butcher. After John’s father died suddenly last year, he’s trying to make their fourth generation farm work for them. A half-term break means a leisurely family day out… to the sheep auction.

And in Moray, Nikki, Ollie and their children team up to process a bumper harvest of apples into juice for the whole year. Later, they find out if one of their favourite buffalo is pregnant.
