What's in Vernon's Vault today?

Singer, songwriter and record producer Cathy Dennis chooses her Tracks of My Years all this week. Plus, two more contestants take on Vernon's music quiz Ten to the Top.

Singer, songwriter and record producer Cathy Dennis chooses her Tracks of My Years all this week.

Signed by manager Simon Fuller aged 17, Cathy achieved her first success as a vocalist with D Mob, singing on tracks like C’mon and Get My Love. Moving into work as a solo artist, she released four solo albums featuring hit singles including Touch Me (All Night Long) and Too Many Walls.

From the 90s into the 2000s, Cathy progressively moved into work as a songwriter and producer, penning multiple number one hits like Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out of My Head, Britney Spears’ Toxic (for which she won a Grammy) and Will Young’s Anything Is Possible.

After 15 years without a public performance, Cathy returned to performing at London’s Mighty Hoopla in London in 2019, and has recently teamed up again with S Club 7 co-writer Simon Ellis to pen S Club’s new single These Are the Days.

Cathy's next two choices this week come from Peter Gabriel and the Pet Shop Boys.

There'll also be more audio nuggets as we dive in to the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Archive in Vernon's Vault, plus the mid-morning music quiz Ten to the Top and a brand new Record and Album of the Week.
