Andy Scott from Sweet
Andy Scott from Sweet is Johnnie's My 70s guest
Guitarist Andy Scott joined Sweet (or The Sweet) in 1970 and has never looked back.
After more than 50 years, the band is still regarded by fans as a national treasure and their hits are part of the very fabric of the sound of the decade.
The band rose to fame in the early 70s and first hit the UK singles chart in 1971. They went on to ride high on the wave of glam rock and notched up 13 UK top 20 hits during the decade, including their number one single Blockbuster. Frontman Brian Connolly left in 1979, and the band broke up in 1981.
Different versions of the band continued off and on through the decades, but now Andy is the only surviving member.
Now, he and his new bandmates have recently released a single, which was originally written in 1973. They鈥檙e also heading out on a UK tour in December.
