Cillian joins Lauren live in the studio ahead of the release of his new film Oppenheimer.

Cillian is an acclaimed actor who began his career in the late 90s before being catapulted to mainstream attention with Danny Boyle's zombie drama 28 Days Later. From 2013 to 2022, he starred as Thomas Shelby in the global smash-hit drama Peaky Blinders, loosely based on the gang of the same name and set in post-WWI Birmingham. He has a long-standing working relationship with filmmaker Christopher Nolan, having starred in The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception and Dunkirk. Now they're collaborating once more with Cillian starring as J Robert Oppenheimer in the film Oppenheimer, which hits cinemas next Friday. The film is based on a 2005 biography of Oppenheimer, who was a theoretical physicist often credited as the "father of the atomic bomb" for his role in the Manhattan Project, the research and development undertaking that created the first nuclear weapons.

Away from the screen, he's a great fan of music and is part of the extended 6 Music family, having presented shows on the network over the last few years.
