Former New Generation Artists the Quatuor Ebene open the fourth programme in this series with Ravel鈥檚 lively and colourful String Quartet in F. Written when Ravel was still in his 20s and finishing his studies at the Paris Conservatoire, he dedicated it to his teacher Gabriel Faur茅. Mozart wrote his Piano Trio in B flat around the same time as three of his much-loved piano concertos and several piano quartets, so it鈥檚 perhaps unsurprising that we hear a greater prominence in the piano lines of this work, performed by the prize-winning Van Baerle Trio.
