'Did you have a front room?'

Anne from Lurgan would like to hear a song from Hank Loughlin. Sean would like to know if she had a front room, and did Hank Loughlin ever play in it.

Anne from Lurgan would like to hear a song from Hank Loughlin. Sean would like to know if she had a front room and did Hank Loughlin ever play in it.
"Hank Loughlin was often in our front room Sean along with lots of other singers. Have a happy Easter Sean" replies Anne from Lurgan.

Sean was watching the news last night and he asks the listeners if they have noticed that the weather people are all dressing down?

He also noticed an add for syrup that got him thinking about what it was used for years ago.
Janet said it was used for syrup cake. Sean doesn't agree with her.
Eileen puts Sean in his place "The syrup cake that Janet was on about is a steamed pudding, and it came out just like a sponge cake. Janet is right!"

Carol rings to say that treacle was used for baking sodas and scones, she remembers her Granny using it.

John in Coleraine texts "Sean, syrup tart was a favourite dish in the late 1940s. It was a shallow pastry base with a filling of syrup and bread crumbs all with a lattice work of pastry - what marvellous memories!"
