Women's Centre misses out on funding
Derry Women's Centre will have to cut staff and services after losing out on funding.
A local women's centre in Derry says it's disappointed to be among a number of groups to miss out on the replacement scheme for crucial EU funding. The UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund was designed to replace the European Social Fund which came to an end on Friday. The EU money largely supported the community and voluntary sector. The UK government said its scheme will prioritise those seeking employment, and that about 100 organisations will receive financial backing. Derry women's centre was part of a joint bid which didn't secure funds, and will now have to cut staff and services.
