Recent news reports that a Nigerian politician had been involved in an organ-trafficking plot shone a light on the difficulties some ethnic minority groups have when it comes to organ donation. There are various cultural, medical and religious reasons that make this a challenge for those who come from these communities. Bushra Riaz, Policy Lead in Scotland for Kidney Research UK and live organ donor Syma Shazad join Zara to give their perspective on the issues around accepting and donating organs and the role faith plays in those decisions.

Passover begins this week. But what is the significance of this festival for the Jewish faith and what role does it play in the Easter story for Christians? Professor Joe Goldblatt, chair of the Edinburgh Interfaith Association explains the origins of the holiday and gives us some insight into how he and his family have celebrated over the years.

Habib Malik - former head of Islamic Relief Scotland who worked with Humza when was a volunteer for the charity - and writer and social commentator Talat Yaqoob reflect on the historic moment whilst contextualising it within Scotland’s attitudes towards faith.

Eleanor Tucker’s new book Thanks for Sharing explores her experiences during a year doing her utmost to engage with the sharing economy – utilising technology to borrow, rent, lend, share as much as possible. Eleanor gives a balanced view of her experience from getting leftover food from neighbours to last minute borrowing cars and reflects upon her hopes for the future and rethinking the way we consume.

Finally, in the week that The Power, based on the book by Naomi Alderman, comes to our small screens, Dr Anni Donaldson, honorary research fellow at University of Strathclyde, and gender inequality specialist Dr Stephen Burrell from the University of Durham join Zara to review the series and discuss the themes of gender power dynamics that are prevalent throughout.
