New Album Fix - Depeche Mode and Lucinda Chua
Matt Everitt reviews the week's stand-out albums from Depeche Mode, Louis VI, Lucinda Chua and Lana Del Rey.
Matt Everitt reviews the stand-out albums released this week, including Memento Mori by Depeche Mode. The title is a Latin phrase as ‘remember you must die’, which reminds listeners of the inevitability of death. It's the pair's fifteenth album and their first as a duo, following the sudden passing of keyboardist and founding member Andy Fletcher in 2022. We also hear from Louis VI about his second album Earthling, which focuses on the natural world and features field recordings from Amazon storms, to UK forests, to tropical birds on Mexican coasts. Closing the show is London based singer, songwriter, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Lucinda talking about her debut album YIAN, which explores her experiences as a child of the Chinese diaspora.
