A joyous Exploration: Little Drummer Boy

Cerys explores drumming and rhythms with percussionist, composer, filmmaker and educator Ruairi Glasheen. Expect an uplifting and eclectic playlist of rhythms from around the world.

Inspired by the 1941 Christmas song Little Drummer Boy, Cerys handpicks three hours of uplifting and eclectic rhythms from around the world from the Indian tabla to the classic Brazilian pagoda samba rhythm.

Cerys explores drumming and rhythms with percussionist, composer, filmmaker and educator Ruairi Glasheen. Growing up in Ireland, Ruairi picked up the bodhran aged 4 and discovered percussion in his teenage years. He's travelled across the globe, from India and Indonesia to the Middle East and the USA, where he's worked with choirs, orchestras, bands and composers. Ruairi discusses his latest documentary series on Italian drumming, as well as chatting about his recent trip to Japan and sounding out the key rhythms in Irish tunes.

Also, Cerys delves into the 成人快手 archive for the voice of Dr Seth Cudjoe who explains the key elements to Ghanian sogba, and drummers from British Guiana, Assam and even drumming birds, woodpeckers!
