Actor, screenwriter and author Ruth Jones picks her Tracks of My Years all this week with Ken.
Ruth is famously the co-creator - alongside James Corden - of the hit 成人快手 TV comedy 'Gavin & Stacey', where she played the one and only Nessa Jenkins. The show gained critical acclaim for its reunion Christmas special in 2020, and won a BAFTA for TV moment of the year, a National Television Award for Impact, and an RTS nomination for Ruth's performance.
Ruth also created and co-wrote Sky One's 'Stella', which ran for six series. In 2012 she received a nomination for the British Academy Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance for 'Stella'. She received an MBE in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to entertainment.
Other industry awards include the Best Female Comedy Newcomer at the 2007 British Comedy Awards, the Ultimate Funny Woman Award at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year in 2009, and the BAFTA Cymru Sian Phillips Special Recognition Award.
Her debut novel 'Never Greener' was WH Smith Fiction Book of the Year 2018 and a Sunday Times bestseller for fifteen weeks. Her second novel, 'Us Three', was an instant bestseller, and Ruth鈥檚 third novel 'Love Untold' about the complex bond between mothers and daughters, is out now.
Ruth鈥檚 next two choices come from Joe Walsh and Barbra Streisand & Donna Summer.
Plus Ken's got another edition of PopMaster and your dedications with today's love song. There's also record and album of the week. If you want to contact the show, just email ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk.
