³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ 100: Celebrating children’s TV with guest Konnie Huq

Marking the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ’s 100 year anniversary, Mark and Stuart look back at the history of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ children’s television with guest and former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq.

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.

Today, they mark the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ’s 100 year anniversary by looking back at the history of ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ children’s television in the company of their guest Konnie Huq.

Konnie, who presented flagship children’s TV show Blue Peter from 1997 until 2008, is the host of a new programme ‘Kids’ TV: The Surprising Story.’ She chats to Mark and Stuart about what she discovered about ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ children’s programming over the years.

Mark and Stuart also hear from listener’s about their favourite kids TV shows and memories, and play a selection of their favourite theme tunes.

Also on the show... long-running feature ‘The Chain’, which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8000 songs.

With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started, including tracks from artists including Arlo Parks, James Brown, The Human League, Solange, Gaz Coombes, Marshall Jefferson, Nia Archives and John Grant.
