Gap Finders - Caroline Kennedy Alexander
How Caroline Kennedy Alexander found a gap in the post-surgery underwear market with her brand LoveRose Lingerie.
Today's Gap Finder is Caroline Kennedy Alexander. She founded LoveRose Lingerie, a luxury post-surgery underwear brand for women who've had breast cancer.
The Edinburgh-based entrepreneur and designer created聽LoveRose Lingerie聽after being disappointed by the lack of attractive lingerie available following her own double mastectomy in 2015. Caroline is one of six sisters, four of whom have had breast cancer, and very sadly two sisters have passed away. The brand is named in tribute to Caroline鈥檚 late sister Rose, who was a lover of fashion.
Caroline launched the company in 2020 after developing the brand over a couple of years with market research among women who had breast cancer. The collection includes matching bras with knickers and gowns, made with silk and no underwiring.
Caroline appeared on Dragon's Den this March, and although she didn't get funding on the show, it has been instrumental in securing funding from other investors since. They're now focusing on expanding the range of underwear and offering more affordable options.
