Crisis talks will take place this morning between the government and the energy sector. The Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi and UK Business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng are due to meet energy bosses to discuss escalating prices. It comes amid fears that average annual household bills could top 拢4,200 by January.
