Across three programmes, multi gold medal winning Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson looks back at the battle for rights and equality for disabled people across Wales and the rest of the UK.

As a child growing up in Wales the only other person Tanni saw in a wheelchair was a fictional character on the popular ITV soap of the day ‘Crossroads’. And in this series Tanni reflects on how things have changed for her and other disabled people over the past 50 years.

Tanni chats to her sister about how her family originally coped with her disability in the early 70s. She visits her old school where several teachers at a time would have to carry her around in a wheelchair to move her around the building and she hears from others who have been left frustrated as they navigate poor public transport facilities.

She meets Simon Weston who found himself thrust into the public eye after being injured during the Falklands War and she remembers how, against all the odds, she managed to take up sport as a teenager.

In each episode Tanni comes up with challenges for the authorities, politicians and other decision makers on how to further improve disabled rights and achieve equality in Wales and throughout the UK
