Camilla George Take 5

Jamie is joined this week by the saxophonist Camilla George for a Take 5 interview.

Jamie鈥檚 guest is the alto saxophone player, composer and bandleader Camilla George, who joins him for a Take 5 interview!

Camilla grew up in a jazz loving household, taking early inspiration from the sounds of the great saxophonists in her Dad鈥檚 record collection. After getting involved with jazz educators Tomorrow鈥檚 Warriors as a teenager, Camilla has gone on to play with groups like Jazz Jamaica. As a leader, her own acclaimed bands have supported legends like Courtney Pine and Dee Dee Bridgewater.

Camilla鈥檚 third album Ibio-Ibio, which explores her Nigerian heritage, is coming out this September. In this Take 5, she gives her memories of first picking up a saxophone, talks about her love of Kenny Garrett, and the big ideas behind her new record!
