British Olympic medallists Laura Muir and Holly Bradshaw begin their quest for more global glory, while the leading men’s sprinters flex their muscles in the first round of the 100m.

Jeanette Kwakye introduces the live action in Oregon, which also includes the first track final of these World Championships – the mixed 4x400m relay.

Muir earned a breakthrough 1,500m silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics and now begins her bid to reach a fourth straight World Championship final – and first podium. Bradshaw’s Olympic bronze also represented a career highlight, but she goes into pole vault qualification off the back of health problems. Reece Prescod and Zharnel Hughes are the Brits seeking safe passage into the next round of the 100m, which also features Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs and home favourites Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley, Trayvon Bromell and Marvin Bracy-Williams.
