Johnnie chats to Island Records founder Chris Blackwell about his 70s memories, including his pioneering work with Toots Maytal and Bob Marley.

Few labels have had such a varied roster as Island Records.

Established in 1959 by Chris Blackwell, the label went on to bring Ska and Reggae to a global audience with the likes of Toots and the Maytals and Bob Marley.

But that was only a part of the Island sound. It was also home to the likes of Traffic, Free, Roxy Music, Grace Jones and would later establish U2 as global superstars in the 1980s.

Chris Blackwell is Johnnie's guest today, and they will be chatting about Chris's musical memories of the 1970s.
Chris has just released his memoirs, 'The Islander 鈥� My Life In Music And Beyond鈥�.
