The Love Song and Neneh Cherry

The iconic Swedish singer Neneh Cherry chooses the Tracks of My Years all this week with Ken. Plus there's your love song dedications and another round of PopMaster at 10.30.

Neneh Cherry - award-winning singer-songwriter - chooses the Tracks of My Years all week with Ken. Born in Stockholm, Neneh released her breakthrough studio album 'Raw Like Sushi' in 1989. The album peaked at number three on the UK Album Chart, thanks in large part to the worldwide hit single 'Buffalo Stance'. Neneh has won two Brit Awards, plus an MTV Europe Music Award with Senagalese singer-songwriter Youssou N'Dour. She recently received the honorary Icon Award at the NME Awards 2022.

Her latest project, out this month, is 'The Versions' - a collaboration album of covers from her expansive catalogue by an all-female line up, including Sia with a brand new version of 'Manchild'. Other artists involved include long-time friend Robyn who teamed up with Mapei to re-imagine 鈥淏uffalo Stance鈥. Pop provocateur ANOHNI (formerly lead singer of Antony and The Johnsons) lends her haunting vocals to 鈥淲oman鈥 and south London nomad Greentea Peng transforms 鈥淏uddy X鈥 into a garage infused number.

Neneh's daughter Tyson also features with the song 'Sassy', and her other daughter Mabel is already well known on the music scene with several UK hit singles including 'Don't Call Me Up' and 'Let Them Know'.

The next two tracks Neneh has chosen come from Johnny Guitar Watson and Stevie Wonder. Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
