Bonnie Raitt shares her 70s memories
Bonnie Raitt joins Johnnie to chat about her memories of the 1970s, plus Johnnie marks the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust!
Bonnie Raitt began the 1970s as a young blues aficionado on the East Coast of the US, learning her craft with some of the most legendary names of the genre. With grit, determination and talent, she became one of the most revered artists of her generation, collaborating with the likes of Jackson Browne and John Prine. She didn't gain mainstream success until the 1980s but with her signature Fender Stratocaster, has kept audiences thrilled for decades with her incredible guitar skills. She's back with a new album and will chat to Johnnie about her memories of the 1970s and her current project.
Elsewhere on the show, Johnnie looks at 'This Week In Music' including the 50th anniversary of David Bowie's fifth album, 'The Rise And Fall Of ZIggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars'. It's since become a landmark not only in Bowie's career but in the entire genre of rock n' roll.
Also on the show, another entry to Johnnie's Jukebox, your choice of 'One Of A Kind' and the 'BTO' and your stories, dedications and mentions. If you'd like to hear Johnnie read out your email, write to him at walker@bbc.co.uk
