Downing Street is attempting to delay a decision over a possible Commons investigation into whether Boris Johnson misled MPs about lockdown parties. A Labour motion is due to be voted on today but the government says MPs should wait until after two inquiries - by Scotland Yard and a senior civil servant - are completed. Labour says ministers are trying to kick the issue into the long grass.
