Celebrating the winners in Ulster-Scots’ literature, and Slow Food’s 'Best Greengrocer' in the UK

Kintra’s full of Ulster-Scots’ winners this week; from the competitive world of the written word, to the slow food market garden of the UK’s “Best Greengrocer”.

Guests Alan Millar and Angeline King are the winner and runner-up respectively of the prose competition in the recent Linenhall Library’s Ulster-Scots writing competition. They join Helen Mark, Willie Hill and Mark Thompson to chat about their success and the surge in great writing within the Ulster-Scots community.
Staying with the theme of local success stories, Willie chats to Linda and Sean McCooke of Slemish Market Garden in Ballymena – winners of the Slow Food Movement’s “Best Greengrocer in the UK, 2021” award.
The team love to hear from listeners with their comments about the programme, or with a yarn or song or poem to share or an Ulster-Scots event to promote. You can contact them at kintra@bbc.co.uk.
