Hearing the “The Mither Tongue”, a song of Banks and Braes and a resolution to unwrap more local, seasonal food.

A new audio version of “Scots: The Mither Tongue”, a song of the Banks and Braes o’ bonny Scotland and a new resolution to unwrap food and eat more seasonal and local food.

Guest Billy Kay joins the team to talk about the newly released audio version of his classic text “Scots: The Mither Tongue” - with much of interest to the Ulster-Scots. Diana Culbertson has a song from the Banks and Braes o’ bonny Scotland. With an eye on environmental issues, making her pound go further and eating better, Sylvia Burnside chats to Paula McIntyre for a few tips.
Helen Mark, Rab Lennox and Willie Hill keep the chat going on this week’s Kintra and as always, love to hear from listeners. To pass on your comments about the programme, or with a yarn, song or poem to share or an Ulster-Scots event to promote, contact the team at kintra@bbc.co.uk.
