Scott Mills sits in with Olly Alexander choosing Tracks Of My Years
Olly Alexander - actor and the man behind Years & Years - picks the Tracks of My Years. Scott has your love song dedications plus another round of PopMaster.
Olly Alexander - the man behind Years & Years and one of the world's most trailblazing modern pop stars - chooses the Tracks of My Years all week with Scott. His latest single 'Sweet Talker', where he teamed up with dance duo Galantis, was Radio 2's record of the week earlier this month which he performed live at the time on Strictly - The Results Show. It's taken from the forthcoming new album 'Night Call' due out in January. Years & Years' first studio album 'Communion' - before they became an Olly solo project - went straight in at number one on the UK Albums Chart in 2015 and was the fastest-selling debut album of the year from a UK signed band. Their biggest hit single 'King' reached number one in the UK Singles Chart in March of that year.
Olly will see out 2021 with a music extravaganza as ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ One plays host to 'The Big New Years & Years Eve Party'. He will be joined by some very special guests including Kylie Minogue and the legendary Pet Shop Boys.
Olly also recently teamed up with Kylie on ‘A Second To Midnight’, the lead single from Minogue's ‘Disco: Guest List Edition’ and ‘The Night Call Tour’ launches at The Brighton Centre in May 2022.
Across two hugely successful albums to date, the singer, actor, fashion icon and cultural vanguard has earned 5 Brit Award nominations, surpassed 4.4 billion global streams, and played triumphant shows ranging from Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage to The SSE Arena. Olly has also become a fearless, once-in-a-generation voice on important discussions around mental health, and issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.
Scott also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Scott.Mills@bbc.co.uk
