Seasonal blue-grass, “Verses from Rathfriland”, a word about “The Storyteller”, and music for London’s Lord Mayor’s Show.

Seasonal blue-grass music, a new book of verses, remembering HG Lyttle, and the musicians from Drumagheagles marching to their own tune for London’s Lord Mayor.

Guest Roy Ferguson has been writing Ulster-Scots verse for quite some time, some of which he shares in a new book of “Verses from Rathfriland”. Helen Mark meets the great grandson of the multi-talented HG Lyttle to hear more about this favourite son of Newtownards. Musically, it’s a new seasonal offering from Cup o’Joe - Rab Lennox brings us his thoughts on their new album, while Jonnie Crawford hears about the Drumaheagles Young Defenders and their recent trip to London to play in the Lord Mayor’s Show.
As always, the team loves to hear from listeners with details of an Ulster-Scots event they’d like to promote, a story they’d like to hear or a good yarn to share – email the team at kintra@bbc.co.uk.
