PHONE IN: Violence Against Women
It's International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the start of a 16 day global awareness campaign. The Scottish Government is launching an initiative to encourage women living with domestic abuse to seek support and MSPs will also observe a minute's silence later in memory of all women killed by men over the past year. The killings of Sarah Everard and Sabina Nessa, have led to yet more discussions about the need to tackle the issue. This year there is a particular focus calling on all men to do more to make a difference with #AllMenCan a leading message.
