Sam Fender - chart-topping singer songwriter - chooses the Tracks of My Years. Scott has your daily love songs, plus another round of PopMaster.

Sam Fender - the chart-topping singer songwriter - chooses the Tracks of My Years all week with Scott. Born in North Shields on the banks of the River Tyne, Sam originally wanted to be an actor before his singing career took over. In 2018 he was placed on the 成人快手's Sound of 2018 alongside artists such as Billie Eilish, Lewis Capaldi and the eventual winner Sigrid. The following year he went on to win the Critics' Choice Award at the Brits and released his debut album Hypersonic Missiles, which entered the UK Albums chart in the top spot. It was supported by seven singles - 'Play God', 'Leave Fast', 'Dead Boys', 'That Sound', 'Will We Talk?' 'Hypersonic Missiles' and 'The Borders' and sold over 41,000 copies in the first week of its release. The album has since sold well over 100,000 copies.

Sam has just released his second album - Seventeen Going Under - written in his home town of North Shields. It was Radio 2's Album of the Week earlier this month, and in it he harks back to his adolescence and the trials and tribulations of growing up. It's been described as a defiant record as well as a celebratory record and an inspiring one too. In September - after a long break due to the pandemic - Sam played nine dates around the UK, and come November he's due to perform again In Newcastle, London, Leeds and Cardiff.

The next two tracks Sam has chosen come from The Spencer Davis Group and Donny Hathaway. Scott also has your love song dedications, plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Scott.Mills@bbc.co.uk
