Poems old and new, Recycling drum skins from Lambegs to bodhrans, and for highland pipe fans, the return of a monthly gathering

Memories from poems old and new – including a prize-winning verse – and reusing old Lambeg drum skins for new bodhrans.

Helen Mark chats with Angeline King about her winning entry in an Ulster-Scots poetry competition in Donegal. Rab Lennox has news of the return of the Blackthorn Pipers – a monthly gathering for highland pipe fans with maybe a bowl of stew to complete the evening. John McAllister tells us about his collection of poems written by his late mum Sadie while Jonnie Crawford completes this week’s Kintra line up.
As always, listeners are welcome to send their comments, feedback, details of an Ulster-Scots event they’d like to promote, or a good yarn to share – email the team at kintra@bbc.co.uk.
