Members of Radio 3's New Generation Artists scheme, the Aris Quartet performs Mendelssohn's String Quartet in D, Op 44, alongside works by Schulhoff and Kurt谩g.

One of the most exciting ensembles of their generation - and current members of Radio 3's New Generation Artists scheme - the Aris Quartet performs Mendelssohn's sunny, life-enhancing Quartet Op 44 No 1, preceded by Schulhoff's neoclassical Five Pieces for String Quartet, a dance suite looking back to the Baroque through a modernist lens. Completing the programme, Kurt谩g's Officium breve, written in memory of fellow Hungarian composer Andre忙 Szerv谩nszky, who was given the "Righteous among the Nations" award to honour non-Jews who risked their lives to save Jews from the Nazis.
