Lilian drops off a hamper to Jakob at the vet practice. She can鈥檛 thank him enough for being thorough with his checks on Double Bill despite her pressuring him to sign the horse off for purchase. Lilian鈥檚 gift interrupts Denise and Jakob鈥檚 chat. Denise almost didn鈥檛 take up Jakob鈥檚 invitation to talk but did so out of loyalty to Alistair and the practice. Jakob admits he misses her skills, and recognises he鈥檚 been insensitive. Denise explains she鈥檚 feeling stressed at home with both of her children moving out.
Alistair plans to take Mousse to a rescue centre but Jazzer tries to persuade him otherwise. Alistair needs someone to come home to, especially when he鈥檚 had a hard week like this one. But the canine companionship that Jazzer鈥檚 describing isn鈥檛 forthcoming from Mousse with Alistair. Alistair鈥檚 relieved to learn Denise and Jakob have come to an agreement and she will resume working at the practice. When Jakob notices Denise鈥檚 fondness for Mousse he suggests that she takes the dog home. Denise agrees. She鈥檒l even take Mousse to visit her owner Mrs Hakim.
After ruling out a horse and a boat, Lilian and Justin are at a loss as to what to do with the money they want to invest. Lilian wonders whether they should simply give the money away. Justin thinks she鈥檚 mad. Whilst he鈥檚 not against doing something for charity he still wants them to pursue a venture together. Whatever it will be, it鈥檒l make the rest of Ambridge sit up and take notice.
