Hollywood stars Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish tell Zoe about their new film, Here Today. In the film, veteran comedy writer Charlie Burnz, played by Billy, forms an unlikely yet hilarious and touching friendship with New York singer Emma Payge, played by Tiffany. Emma - the unlikely recipient of a prize to have lunch with the comedy legend, despite not knowing who he is - gets off to a rocky start with Charlie. Before long, each finds in the other a sort of soul mate, forging a deep bond that kicks the generation gap aside and redefines the meaning of friendship, love, and trust.

Actor and writer Daisy Haggard chats to Zoe about the second series of her critically-acclaimed 成人快手 comedy-drama, Back to Life. Daisy is known for her roles in the 成人快手 sitcoms Uncle and Episodes and since 2020, she has appeared alongside Martin Freeman as Ally in the FX series Breeders, a role for which she was nominated for the BAFTA Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance.

I was going to have such a brilliant week before it all fell apart.
聽 聽 A big old birthday bash away from home,
聽 聽 reconnecting at last with people I really miss,
聽 聽 then lifelong mates coming to stay,
聽 聽 a curry and quiz night,聽
聽 聽 and at the end of it a trip to see Brighton play,
聽 聽 first day back in the stadium with a full capacity crowd.聽
聽 聽 Thrilling.聽
聽 聽 I was taking my daughter Ruby to her first big match.
聽 聽 She鈥檚 off to uni soon and deserves a treat聽
聽 聽 after a year of working flat out in a hospital.
聽 聽 Then it all came crashing down.聽
聽 聽 Ruby tested positive.
聽 聽 She had to isolate.
聽 聽 The football was off.
聽 聽 We couldn鈥檛 go to the party.聽
聽 聽 The friends couldn鈥檛 stay.
聽 聽 I suddenly felt isolated myself:
聽 聽 dismayed, bewildered and really fed up,
聽 聽 that everything I鈥檇 looked forward to so much had been taken away.
聽 聽 I know other people are going through far worse
聽 聽 but I really did struggle,
聽 聽 because I鈥檇 invested so much in it all being perfect.
聽 聽 And I don鈥檛 think I鈥檓 alone.
聽 聽 Because this is the time of year for high hopes,
聽 聽 when the pressure gets piled on.
聽 聽 The sun has got to shine, right?聽
聽 聽 It鈥檚 summer! We鈥檙e running out of time!
聽 聽 The holiday has got to be amazing after all our trials.
聽 聽 The wedding - if you鈥檙e having one - has to be idyllic after waiting so long.
聽 聽 The last weekend before the schools go back has to be the best ever.
聽 聽 But sometimes it just doesn鈥檛 work like that.聽
聽 聽 And then what?
聽 聽 I reached out to a friend for help聽
聽 聽 and they told me to count my blessings,
聽 聽 which was really annoying,
聽 聽 because who wants to be told to be grateful when they鈥檙e fed up?
聽 聽 But the friend was right.
聽 聽 What matters to me most is that Ruby is okay.
聽 聽 My gorgeous daughter who helped save lives in the hospital is back on her feet,
聽 聽 nagging me about taking her to the football again,
聽 聽 which must be her way of saying she loves me.
聽 聽 Saint Paul wrote to his fellow believers,
聽 聽 鈥淭hree things will last forever鈥攆aith, hope, and love鈥攁nd the greatest of these is love.鈥�
聽 聽 So although I鈥檇 lost faith
聽 聽 and my hopes had been dashed
聽 聽 I could look at my girl and remember,
聽 聽 love remains.
