Events spiral out of control for Shula while David feels uneasy
As they work together at Berrow Farm, Neil and Jazzer ponder who is the fete鈥檚 celebrity guest and share their experiences of having a Horrobin woman as their significant other. Jazzer makes light of Tracy鈥檚 quirks while Neil is heavy-hearted about Susan always having to have the last word. A call from Shula interrupts the conversation. Jazzer and Neil can see her on horseback in the distance. During her call to Neil, the horse spooks and Shula is thrown to the ground. While Jazzer calls an ambulance, Neil talks to Shula who鈥檚 out cold. She comes round and he tells her not to move, she may have broken her arm. With rising emotion, Neil tells Shula she will be fine; he鈥檚 with her and not going anywhere.
David and Ruth are reflecting on how all seems well at Brookfield when Shula calls round to collect her beef order. She鈥檚 off on her ordainment placement soon which she鈥檚 looking forward to but wishes it wasn鈥檛 happening at such a busy time of year for her. David and Ruth have noticed that Neil is spending a lot of time at the Stables. Shula explains the gardening work he鈥檚 been doing for her has been respite for him from the fallout of Alice鈥檚 alcoholism.
David reports a problem with some of Josh鈥檚 hens. Their laying has reduced and the eggs they are producing have unusually fragile shells. Alistair鈥檚 coming to take a look. It could mean Josh won鈥檛 be able to fulfil the orders he鈥檚 secured with big local businesses. Ruth insists that David doesn鈥檛 get involved but let Josh sort it out himself
